:( really...... If that formation is so good can you explain why no decent team ever plays it??? Think about the space that would be left on the wings..... You need two players covering the centre to counter two strikers.... and the wide me to control the flanks.....

Lets start with players who give 100% commitment, we have to play these players- the battlers
1 attacking and 1 defensive midfielder
go 4-4-2 or were not going to score.
Play the players who are likely to score
Also dont rush them back from injury, e.g. mario and clapham as dunn and forssell seem to be fit. So to start i will go with this:

-------------taylor

dj---------taylor-------upson------stan

pennant------izzet/jarosik------clemence----dunn

--------------sutton------forssell

subs:
vasean
mario
clapham
heskey
izzet/jarosik

Funny isn't it Dreamgirl how you started a thread last Monday night headed "Anti-Gray's where are you ?" because he had an average (but world class by his standards) game against Wigan. You criticised many of us on here who see Gray for what he is a "non-tryer". Where is he in your team above ? ;)

Well i think dunny is better than him dont you? If you didnt notice i also missed out jarosik. You cant play gray every game now can you i prefer dunn there and if you look at the bench who would you take out?
clapham-left midfield and left back
mario- right back can get forward
heskey- need a striker on the bench
jarosik/izzet- they have to be in the team or bench

Have a look above i edited and had to take kilkenny to fit jarosik in.

You haven't seen Granny. She gives 100%, isn't afraid to attack the full back if he's too aggressive, cares, doesn't shirk her tackles, doesn't hide, makes herself available for a pass and has a bit of passion. **thumbup

Whereas Julian, well, he knits a lovely woolly jumper for the winter and oh, earns over £20,000 a week for it

Those who come in on a "Bosman" are usually the best paid "players" and for Gray I use that word reluctantly

:( really...... If that formation is so good can you explain why no decent team ever plays it??? Think about the space that would be left on the wings..... You need two players covering the centre to counter two strikers.... and the wide me to control the flanks.....

You have THREE centre backs supported by the 2 wide men when defending (making a 5 man defence) with one of the THREE centre midfielders sitting deep to cover the runners. When attacking the wide men push on, played in by the midfield which isolates the full back in a 4-4-2 formation. the opposing box gets over loaded as you have the two strikers supported by your two attacking midfielders , effectively making it 4 v 3 in the box. defensively you are covered as any one who has ever coached knows, in this system if one wing back goes forward, the other sits to offer up four defensive covers.

Ac milan play this way, oh and a really poor team called chelsea revert to this system when chasing a game( as they did last week, recovered the lead then reverted back to the tried and trusted)
Its an attacking formation used by most teams when they need to score.
I think thats sums us up right now.

My manager is on about 60k a year, he does fak all all day, strolls around like hes on holiday. He does this because hes earned his qualifications and experience.

I sit at work and struggle all day, work my ****** off, im on a lot less than him...

sorry but it's totally different, teamwork in a football team is supposed to be about playing for each other and allowing for teamates strengths and weaknesses, your boss is the head of the team because he's earned it, Just because Butt has been a successful player in the past, DOES NOT mean he can take it easy now.

1- sutton and heskey wont work because there both the same type player
2- you need a defensive midfielder in there
3- dont play jarosik out of position,

Sorry mate but we need a better team to play that formation, and Bruce loves the old 4-4-1-1, for some reason

Oh yeah if ure pro or anti brucie, look at my poll on Your polls under 'manager Problem' and vote if u want bruce out and who in?
